Noah and Gabi, Gabi and Noah; the blessings of my
life. You are hilarious, kind, giving, crazy, out of control, delicate,
loud, ridiculous, lazy, amazing, can't live without you, can't wait til you
turn eighteen and move out kind of kids
You make my days brighter and better and yet you exhaust me to no end. I can barely remember a
time when I wasn't totally frazzled. Even when I am alone with just
myself I am constantly immersed in thoughts about you...
what should I be doing for you, how could I be better for you,
am I doing this all right, am I doing it wrong, did you go to school with
cereal on your face, will you have a friend at lunch, should I come to school
for lunch just in case, no that would embarrass you... will you make it in this
world okay?
Remember when you were littler...
Noah, you were my
typical mama's boy. I don't think I cooked a meal without you in my arms
until you were well past one. You saved me. You showed me my true
path on this Earth; in this life. I live for you. I know you won't
think that is true for many years, but it is. I love your depth, your old
soul, your perceptiveness, your lovingness, and your humor. I tolerate
your filthy room, bad attitude, and nine year oldness. I hope for you an
education, travel, and something interesting that you can use your passion
towards...
Gabrielle, your were a
typical daddy's girl. Born on the first day of summer, to this day you
shine brighter than the sun. I have never met a happier human being than
you. You make me a better mother, better friend, better person. I
love your genuine loving nature, your love of all living things, your
creativity, your song writing, and your laughter. I tolerate your
laziness, your messiness, and sometimes your never ending chattiness! I
hope for you an education, a strong sense of self, and children; because you
will make the most wonderful mother.
I will always hold a
special place in my heart for Buzz Lightyear. I balled my eyes out on
this last one... remember when Uncle Jay dressed up as Woody for Halloween? You
were so impressed. You are just like ANDY in that you love your action
and adventure but prefer it to happen in you very own room. I love that about you.
There is that sunshine beaming from the inside out. Your favorite? Winnie-the-Pooh. I realize now that your love for those characters came from the gift you have to understand the complexity of human emotion. You are quick to join those who are happy, lift those who are sad, and hold those who are suffering. You are a real life Christopher Robin.
A bit older.
Noah's humor and Gooses grin get slightly larger.
Almost a decade
has passed since this crazy family began to grow. These years have been
amazingly difficult, terribly wonderful, blissfully crazy,
painfully hilarious, marvelously arduous. Nothing about family life is
easy, yet there is nothing quite like it. It is an honor to be your
mother, to serve you in this life, to be your advocate, to teach you all I know
and hope you learn far more.
I thank you for
choosing us; your father and I. You truly are a gift.
