Online journal(ing), aka blogging, has been a relatively new adventure for me.  Though I find great joy in this craft I also find struggle, self doubt, and a touch of anxiety.  I think these feelings are justified and normal for any one person, such as myself, to feel when creating...

I am a person of numbers.  I enjoy them just as they are.  I have been looking forward to 11/11/11 for some time now.  I spent this day with my dad who knows this about me and who also enjoys numbers. Before venturing out for a most lovely day in Montreal yesterday I felt compelled to write a quick post referencing this Day.  I am absolutely floored by the post number of that last particular post...

Since beginning this gig on blogspot in January 2011 (1/11) the post yesterday referencing 11/11/11 was my, believe it or not, 111th post to date...

Now, for a lover of numbers such as myself, I should have seen that coming.  I probably would have planned it if I had noticed the closeness... But this was pure happenstance and I am delighted.  I am left with a touch of confidence that everything is exactly as it should be...

Mr. Lennon, you were such a remarkable man.

This string of words, it shall remain my motto from now until forever.

I wish you hadn't left us... in this cruel world and all alone, without you.

We would be better if you were here.

Grandma Ruth...

Meet my Grandma Ruth.

A ballsy broad with a zest for life and the world we live in like no one else I have ever known.  Fifty years my senior she has lived a life, thus far, worthy of your admiration.  One of 7sisters and raised in the depression, a father with a personality that requires a book to detail, left home at 16 for something better...

then a wife, then a mother...of three boys.  The stories she tells of this feat alone has me wide eyed and laughing all evening long.

But my favorite... her world traveling and the stories she shares of the places she has been...

Safari's in Africa
The great Barrier Reef
The Middle East
Driving an RV in New Zealand **on the wrong side of the road
Adventures in the Grand Canyon
Riding on a camel in Egypt

Though life has slowed down a bit in these recent years and world travel isn't so much in the cards these days, she still hops in her car and makes the 9 hour drive to Vermont to see me.  And with her she brings a mind full of questions, enthusiasm, wonder, and interest.  Topics discussed this weekend:

The nature of God
The Afterlife
The global awakening
The blueprint for the New Earth
The societal shift
The consolidation of power within the corporate and banking industries

and my favorite statement : getting old is not for sissies.

With all that on our minds I was not surprised when this book, pictured below, jumped out at her in the store and she bought it immediately... One of her favorite topics of discussion; what would one need to survive on a desert island and are you someone who would be useful and/or resourceful... if not, no
entrance for you!

Thank you for your visit dear Grandma.  It was so lovely to see you.  I look forward to a visit, in the dead of winter perhaps, so we can cozy up in your house and continue our conversations...

Girlfriends...

I just love a good girl friend.

Everywhere I have lived, which encompasses more than a few places, I make a few girl friends.  There are so many that stand out over the years, and now currently, that I can only smile at my good fortune.  I didn't realize until much later, how very important these ladies are and what they have done to lift me in my life. I love you all.

This is something that must run in the fam, for Gabi just loves making new friends too.  I took this picture of these girls and could not resist their bright beautiful faces, with smiles and loveliness to match.

Do you have friends in your life you are thankful for?
